King of de Britons
Torill and Synnøve arrived in London on Thursday night and we met up on Friday at eleven. Dragged them around with me for hours, constantly trying to orientate myself, and we ended up having a lovely day. Ate well, drank well, chatted about lots of things, and ended the evening by going to see Spamalot. It's my second visit. This time Sanjeev Bhaskar was the "King of de Britons, innit", and everyone was very happy. I spotted someone on stage who looked very familiar indeed. As we were sitting in the Dress Circle and I seriously should buy a new pair of glasses, I wasn't entirely sure, but kept watching him throughout the whole performance...much like I did the last time I saw him, because I was right (and coming to think of it, I think I secretly knew he had joined the ensemble some time ago); it was my fave from La Cage last year, Spencer Stafford.
I was humming the Spamalot songs when I woke up this morning, even, so I definitely would like to see it again. Cato? :p
Well, I'm off to play Civilization IV. I just never tire of that game. As long as I'm winning, of course.

You Have Got to be Joking!
Europe is still waiting for Rock Band to be released, nearly a year after its US release, and now Harmonix have announced that Rock Band 2 will arrive in the US by Q4 this year. That is just taking the piss.
Besides that, I have spent the entire day in Neverwinter, eagerly (and pointlessly) awaiting The Witcher to be delivered. Let's cross our fingers for a Thursday delivery instead, then. We had planned to go to see a film tomorrow, though (Hancock). We'll see.
Ooh, by the way; Bonekickers must surely be some of the crappiest drama to come out of the BBC in the past decade or so? The only reason I was still watching after 15 minutes, was Hugh Bonneville, but I'm not sure even he can save this piece of horse manure. It reminded me why I can't stand the preposterous, imaginary world of Dan Brown. Paul Rhys was fucking brilliant, though. Wow, what a creepy character. Anyhoo, off to bed.

This is Clearly Not My Day
Turns out Dennis Storhøi has been cast in Les Miserables in Oslo next year. If this means the role of Javert, I am going to be very cross indeed, as I have checked prices and it's going to cost me at least 300 pounds travelling to and staying in Oslo for one night, plus of course the ticket to the show, and then I always end up buying lots of stuff I don't need (Norwegian crisps, for instance).
However...it would be too fantastic to miss if he were Javert (I find that hard to believe, though); then the Storhøi/Quast Circle would definitely have been complete.
All I would need then would be the Ultimate Norwegian Cast of Noises Off..., and I could die happy.

Grrr...eat Start!
Great start to the morning; Hugh Bonneville is on BBC Breakfast and I can see him but not hear him (the telly is in another room, and there is a glass wall between us). Did I set my DVR before I left home? Did I fuck. Does the Beeb offer Breakfast on their iPlayer? Nuh-uh. Grrrrrrrr.
Anyway, yesterday didn't quite pan out as planned; I ended up leaving the pub (after my first lock-in, which was very nice) at one o'clock, not nine as first intended. Then we went to Victoria to find a mini cab, but ended up taking the night bus instead. After a quick semi-dinner I eventually went to bed at 2.45, only to wake up four hours later wondering what the hell I was thinking the night before.
I am in a bit of a daze now, and I am sure it will last throughout the day, but my brain seems to be working enough for me to be able to do my job, at least. Let's just hope there won't be too much to do today.

Happy B, Mr. Rush!
And while we're sitting here, waiting for the rain around Wimbledon to clear up (in the middle of the men's final? What nerve!), I am going to comment upon last night's episode of Doctor Who, with no spoilers!
Uhmm...that makes it kind of difficult to comment at all, so I'll just say it was even more action-packed than the rest of the series, and I may or may not continue watching next year. How's that for a fascinating read, eh?
It appears I am going out again tonight, which makes it three nights in a row (although yesterday was mainly just my doing a prolonged bye-bye with a drink in my hand) and hardly any sleep. I'm too old for this, I realise. Which makes for a great excuse for not going out, of course, but those times when I actually want to go out, it's just annoying. Still, the plan is to leave rather early tonight, since, once again, I have to go to work tomorrow. Just say no, just say NO!
Ooh, by the way! Adrian Lester revealed on Wossy that they're making the fifth series of Hustle at the moment! Glee! The last series was kind of dull, so I'm hoping bringing Adrian back to the cast would help. Also very much looking forward to that new series which sounds absolutely bonkers but which does have Hugh Bonneville in it, Bonekickers; it starts in two days, I think it was. Nice.

Zzzzzz...
I am so incredibly sleepy today. I have a creeping feeling that signing up for a ticket for tonight's performance of Canterbury Tales as well as yesterday may have been a very bad move. The performance was good and I had lots of fun (especially afterwards), but after having had a few drinks (and started speaking much better English, by the way; strange how that always happens) I stayed way too long and eventually went to bed at 1:30, after a hasty dinner (Chinese takeaway). This wouldn't have been too bad, had it not been for the fact that I then only had about four and a half hours of sleep before getting up to go to work. I sounded like Victor Meldrew when I woke up and looked at the time.
Anyway. Big surprise to see Nicola Walker hanging about reading the paper at the tube station. I was two seconds away from throwing myself at her feet and begging her to get back and save Spooks.
Well, gotta run. Ta-ta!
