There's a Fine Line Between History and Silliness
I just couldn't let this wonderful source of laughter, sent to me by one of my regular visitors (Aug), pass you by. It may actually prolong your life!
I would also recommend The Timewaster Letters by Robin Cooper. If you've already got that one, look for the next version of his book this October.

Time for a Change!
And I thought I liked Tony. Not surprised about my view on Tory beliefs, though.
Your outcome:
However, reading up on the two parties, I find that I'm more of a Green than a LibDem. Don't think I agree with either party on drug issues, though.
An interesting point of view that I've never thought about is that many of the American so-called Christians/Republicans are pro-life and at the same time want the death penalty. Not at all hypocritical, is it?
Current track: Not sure, something the local kindergarten is playing. Loudly.

Timon Rules the Waves!
Remember Timon Siger, my Monk/Shadowdancer from Neverwinter Nights? Well, he became the biggest hero of that world yesterday, when he (minor spoiler alert) defeated Morag and rescued Neverwinter. Of course, being very curious, I waited for about half a second before starting the first expansion pack. I just wanted to see if I could bring my high level Timon into that module where you're supposed to start afresh. Mainly because I want to level him up even further before going into the second expansion pack. This unfortunately led the first module to being slightly boring (at least in the beginning).

Bad Judgement Call
Florida police handcuff five-year-old girl because she was impossible to deal with (something which the footage doesn't really show). Not quite the approach one should take, perhaps?

Quotes! Lots of Quotes!
First of all, I watched The Life & Death of Peter Sellers yesterday (finally released on DVD, as I've heard about the film for two years) and I must say Geoffrey Rush did a very good job. And it was fun to see John Lithgow again, as well as the so obvious once I saw it great Nigel Havers portraying David Niven.
Then I would like to turn your attention to my newly added "Quotes" section (on the right hand menu), where you will find quite a large compilation of some of my favourite quotes. Please visit if you would like to prolong your life.

White Smoke
Just as I was getting all revved up about the new pope and how he's going to be even more conservative than the last one, I remembered I don't have to worry about it because I'm not a Catholic. Sometimes I need to get my head screwed back on.

That's Not Fair!
Look at my poor monk, Timon Siger (I have no idea from where I got that name, probably a random key-pressing event) - fighting a giant king! It's simply not a fair fight!
...especially since Timon is basically immune to everything and has absorbing armour. The poor king had to fight him for fifteen minutes (while I was watching Spooks and eating crisps) before finally succumbing to Timon's great martial skills (and the game had the giant king down as "Impossible" to beat? Something clearly wasn't right) - and of course the fact that dear Timon has had training as a shadowdancer in addition to his monk profession helped a bit.
You see, several events led to Timon meeting the king today. Yesterday I was playing Gothic, eventually discovering the cumbersome controls had my hand in a cramped state and I had to give it a rest. Not managing to stay away for long, I returned to my desk after only about an hour, finding out that I was about to miss the entire last beta weekend of Guild Wars. I opened my old client (been participating in a lot of those events ever since I first heard of the game), downloaded the updated files and marvelled at the new and improved graphics since my last visit. By the time I put the game down, at around half eleven, I was hooked and very sad to let my level 6 Monk/Mesmer character, who loved to dance, cheer and smite evil creatures on her travels, go. So, being absolutely mad about the game, I ordered it earlier today and simply had to find an interim substitute. The natural choice seemed to be Neverwinter Nights, which I hadn't played for ten months, God knows why, and now I'm hooked again.
The important thing to notice about this whole evening is that I did manage to stop playing for a while in order to do the washing-up. Yay me!
Current track: Hum, hum, hum and be glum. It's my computer's fan again.

The Weekend Will be Landing Shortly!
And I should be heading home to do the washing-up and some tidying and packing and stuff, but I have a feeling I may just vegetate in front of the telly instead. I "forgot" eating supper yesterday (meaning I couldn't be bothered to make any), so I have to get a grip tonight.
Meanwhile, at work, I am terribly bored, even though there was a "near-apocalypse crisis" here earlier as one of my co-workers deleted a very crucial file on the server system. My boss, AKA The Über-Twat, switched between throwing a tantrum and almost fainting, before we managed to get him to shut up and leave the premises while we worked it out.

Nerves
I don't know exactly why I'm nervous right now, but a friend of mine starts her RADA audition in an hour and I bet she's nervous. I discovered the other day, as I witnessed her rehearsal, that I quite liked giving directions - even though I don't know anything about directing professionally, I still know what I like. However...Shakespeare probably isn't the easiest thing to direct unless your last name is Nunn or Eyre or something similar. "Basically just emphasise e-v-e-r-y s-i-n-g-l-e w-o-r-d." Gee, thanks, that makes it sound so natural, doesn't it? ;-)

All That Jazz...and Technological Advancements
Warning: Jazz has nothing to do with this post. Please go elsewhere if that's what you were looking for.
May I just state how much I adore being able to fully submit my tax return online this year? I have submitted it online ever since we were allowed to, but this is the first time we can do all sorts of changes and submit it without having to post a letter and destroy some more forests. Brilliant. Won't be long until we may vote online. Yay. Let's not leave our homes ever again. ;-)
Part the second of my newfound paganism (read yesterday's entry): I have deemed Eddie Izzard one of my (many) gods. Actually, he's been more or less a god to me for eight years now (I can't believe I became a fan of his after having seen just a short interview with him), but last week he visited Wossy on BBC One (the link leads you to his radio show microsite, though) and he's got it! Remember my seemingly endless rant about how people confuse Scandinavia with the Nordic region? Well, Eddie dearest has understood the whole thing, and even though Jonathan still was confused by the time the show ended, at least none of them said anything mocking about any of the five countries involved. That really warms my inferiority complexed Norwegian heart. *s*
To sum up what I've been doing lately, and thus explaining why I haven't bothered about coming around here - I have been keeping busy tidying this place but most of all I have switched between playing GTA San Andreas (I make a daft gangsta), Dynasty Tactics 2 (finally got through one of the main campaigns), Amplitude (not recommended for the coordination challenged), Shadow of Memories (which was fun but short - and no, I don't wish to know all the endings) and Final Fantasy VIII on the PlayStation (2) and The Sims 2 (University) on the PC - my "let's leave them over night and see what happens" guinea pig family of six people, who were very content as I went to sleep, all died and had turned into three urns and three headstones by the time I got up the next morning. I have just moved in a ghost-crazy family of three and hope to see a lot of spirit action going on there soon. Also, I have overdosed on Spooks (MI5 in the US) lately. I realised they had started showing the third series on one of the Swedish channels and I hadn't seen the second series yet! So off to eBay I went and got hold of the second series and watched all ten episodes in a very short period of time (skipped all the wonderful extra features, though). Phew. Still, not even close to the overdose I got in September 1998 when I had taped three months of daily half-hour episodes of the Australian series A Country Practice. I had to watch them and keep taping the new episodes for a few weeks until I had caught up with everything. Of course, I was a student at the time. *winks*

Oh My.
Celebrating the fact that I have finally, thirteen years overdue, turned into a worthless pagan (i.e. resigned from the Church of Norway), I am going to mention this highly disturbing and very entertaining (although probably not in the way they intended it to be) website: Christian Answers - I particularly recommend the reviews of games and films; they're hilarious.
Oh, and congrats to the happy couple, Charles and Camilla - about bloody time!
